About this video
Jay, Canadian Carnivore Dad from Northern Ontario: My kid hit me with "You're a carnivore, so you're like a T-Rex, right?" Had to laugh—"No, I'm not extinct, I just love my steak!" Fresh back from camp with a new haircut and lo fade (cut it myself, frugal style).
Camping carnivore is tougher—kids want pizza/takeout, but I stick strict. No options at most spots, so plain wings (skin off) or grocery rotisserie chicken (no seasonings, no seed oils—just $10 for a whole bird) = lifesaver. Felt great snacking on it.
Restaurant tips: Omelette meat-only + bacon/sausage (avoid peameal bacon sugar), A&W/McDonald's quarter pounder patties with cheese/bacon (grab-and-go). Sensitive to even tiny breading/sugars—knots stomach fast.
Fresh haircut/beard trim reveal. Progress: ~113 lbs down (244-243 lbs this morning, water fluctuates). Clothes not fitting—shopping soon! Kids eat cleaner (less sugar/carbs = better behavior).
